Progress, Prayer, and a Bit of Tailwind Trouble
Today started the best way possible: with Scripture, prayer, and just sitting quietly with the Lord. That time always resets my perspective and reminds me why I do what I do. Every line of code, every plan, every project is part of something bigger.
After that, I dove into something I’ve been dreaming about: a new app idea designed to support missionaries and help them share their stories. I spent hours sketching out features, thinking through structure, and figuring out how this could serve real people doing real Kingdom work. I'm excited to see where it leads.
Reworking DevChase
I also made some updates to the design and layout of DevChase (this site obviously). It’s still a work in progress, but it’s starting to feel more like me. Cleaner. More focused. A space where I can share what I’m learning, what I’m building, and how my walk with Jesus shapes it all.
But not everything went smoothly…
Tailwind Is Testing Me
For whatever reason, I cannot get my blog posts to display the way I want. The Tailwind typography plugin should be helping, but it’s been fighting me every step of the way. I’ve poked at config files, layout components, and class names more than I care to admit today.
Still, I’m not giving up. I’ll get it working eventually. That’s one thing I’ve learned in this journey: challenges are just part of the process. If you stick with it, clarity eventually breaks through.
Laravel Keeps Me Coming Back
To shake off some of that styling stress, I jumped over to Laracasts and took a few PHP refresher classes. I’m always amazed at how much Laravel simplifies the hard stuff. The more I learn, the more I appreciate just how thoughtfully the framework is built. It really does make building joyful.
Wrapping Up
It wasn’t a perfect day. But it was a meaningful one.
I grew in the Word. I dreamed up something new. I ran into some walls. I chipped away at them anyway. And through it all, I felt that steady reminder that God is in the details, even the CSS ones.
Here’s to more days like this: a little messy, a little challenging, but full of purpose.
